Social Media. So many companies still grapple with the basics of it and here we are trying to predict what will still be important in 2017, what will fade away and who will come out on top.
Facebook is doing it’s best to remain King. This year they will release Snapchat type features that they hope will keep the younger generations entertained. Facebook Live will become more and more important, and Facebook Search is generating 2 billion searches daily. If you are not thinking about the search benefits when building your posts you are missing out on potential business.
Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. What will happen to Donald Trump’s favourite platform? You can now live stream on Twitter without needing the Periscope app. What this will do to Periscope, only time will tell. Twitter wants to be the app that brings you what is happening NOW. I go to Twitter always when something newsworthy is unfolding in the world. It seems to be the best platform to get live information as it happens. Hopefully, the addition of live streaming will keep it as a relevant social media platform for a lot of us, not just Trump.
Snapchat. The app millennials love….? Will Facebook put a kibosh on Snapchats growth with their Snap like features? Will Spectacles, sunglasses that Snap, keep it going strong? Will anonymous apps like Whisper or Yik Yak take over? It will definitely be an interesting year.
Here’s a great article by Andrew Hutchinson about what may come in 2017.
